Morocco: on to Marrakech
Mustafa was our driver from Ouarzazate to Marrakech today. He took us over the Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass through the High Atlas Mountains and down into the chaos that is the Medina of Marrakech.
For the price of a soft drink, an upstairs cafe was the best place to be at sunset to absorb all that was going on in Djamma el Fna Square, Marrakech. Down among the action is no place for the faint-hearted. Even the slightest raised lens from an apparent distance can lead to money changing hands. Don’t ask me how much this snake photo cost.
Once the muezzins began their calls to prayer at 7.00 pm, the street performances died down and the food stall touters ramped up their pitches. There was nothing for it but to dive right in.
