A slower start today then a stroll to the Two Boys Dreaming walk just out of town. Lots of corellas were ground feeding and competing with the crows on the noise front.

After lunch (vegetarians look away now) at the Bakery (camel and kangaroo pies), we drove out on the Bedourie Road to see a stand of Wadi trees and get a real sense of the desert. Wadi tree plains 2plains around the Wadi trees

A more gentle place was Jardine’s waterhole, where one lone pelican was out in the mid-afternoon having limited success with his fishing. I am becoming quite fond of pelicans.

That is all for today’s post. To the dear reader who said we were cheating when we ate out on our first night on the road, we’re doing it again tonight. So I need to leave you now and head across the road to  this remote pub which will be playing host to a few more people tonight who are in town for the Big Red Run that raises money for Type 1 Diabetes research.  Last night we kicked the can at the pub for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. We’ll be happy to repeat the action tonight for the visiting runners.
